Wind Power for New York

Too much of our energy comes from dirty sources that harm our environment and put our health at risk. But by harnessing the power of the wind that’s blowing off our shores, we can repower our lives with clean energy that doesn’t pollute and never runs out.

Program

Protect New York's Waterways

Polluting industries have put our nation's waters in jeopardy by carving loopholes in the Clean Water Act, leaving 28,000 miles of New Yorks's streams open to pollution. Join our call to restore the law's protection to all of our waters.

Program

Let's Get Off Oil

The environmental costs of our oil dependence are out of control — from accidents and spills, to smog, to climate change. It's time to set this country on a path to getting off oil for good. We can get there by convincing our leaders to make new investments in fuel-efficient cars, new technology, and a first-class system of public transportation.

Program

Keep New York safe from drilling

Halliburton, ExxonMobil and others have convinced Gov. Andrew Cuomo to open up New York to dangerous Marcellus Shale gas drilling. We need New Yorkers like you to help put enough pressure on Gov. Cuomo to persuade him to abandon his reckless proposal.

Program

Go Solar, New York

More and more Americans are going solar, meeting more of our energy needs in a way that’s clean and local. Unfortunately, dirty energy companies are putting up new roadblocks at every turn. Our research shows that the cities and states with the most solar power aren't the ones with the most sunshine—they're the ones with the best pro-solar policies. That’s why we’re urging New York's leaders to go big on solar and leave dirty energy behind.

Program

Global Warming Solutions

New York’s Department of Environmental Conservation and officials from other states in the Northeast are gearing up to make changes to the region’s landmark pollution program, which limits global warming emissions from power plants and invests in clean energy. With your support, we can convince state officials to strengthen the program so that New York cuts more pollution and generates more clean energy.

Program

Conservation New York

New York's parks, forests and iconic natural areas are an inextricable part of what make us New Yorkers. From Fire Island to Finger Lakes National Forest to the Hudson Valley, the Catskills and the Adirondacks, these places are a symbol of our commitment to preserve New York’s natural heritage for generations to come. Our parks and forests provide a home to countless wildlife, and each year, they provide millions of visitors an opportunity to hike, camp, fish, boat or just get away from it all and relax.

Program

Clean Water for New York

We should be doing everything we can to protect New York’s beaches and waterways. But loopholes in the law have left more than half our streams without the protections they need. And pollution upstream can contribute to more beach closings each summer.

Program

Clean Air, Healthy Families

New air pollution standards will cut mercury pollution by 90% and save 46,000 lives each year. The coal industry and their friends in Congress are trying to roll back these standards, but we’re urging Congress to let the EPA do its job and move forward with its commonsense plan to protect public health.
